I look forward to working with you and your child this school year. On this page you will find useful information about our classroom. I feel that it is super important for us all to work together (parents, student, and teacher) to have the most successful year. STAR BINDERS: These binders are SUPER important! They will come home each night and need to be signed and returned to school the next day. STAR binders have your child's daily behavior clip chart, daily work, important notes, weekly spelling words, homework journal, and a "saddle bag" where you can put lunch money.
STUDENT BEHAVIOR: There are only 3 rules in Mrs. Krol's room: the students need to be SAFE, RESPONSIBLE, and RESPECTFUL. I use positive behavior support in my classroom. I make it a priority to catch students making good choices and point them out to the rest of the class. If a time arises when a student makes a not-so-good choice they will move their clip on our clip chart. However, if they change their behavior "turn their day around" then they may move their clip back up. If they have not moved their clip down all week, then they will get to participate in "Fun Friday." For those who have moved their clip down that week, during Fun Friday they will meet with me. During this time we will review their choices and talk and write about how they can make sure they make a better choice next time. They will fill out a paper with me and bring it home to be signed and returned on Monday. Students who are having an awesome day can also move their clip up on our chart and can earn fun rewards and kind words sent home! We also have a Warm Fuzzies jar that the class works together to fill! When the jar is full they can select a party of their choice! See our classroom brochure link below for more information.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK ORDERS: I will send home book orders once a month. I will give you a copy of all the different orders, since I think no matter what age books are the best gift! Especially, when every month each catalog offers a $1 book (it's cheaper than a card). I will also send home info on how to place your order online or you can click on the book below. For every order that is placed online our class gets a FREE book coupon and so does the parent!! If you have any questions about finding "Just Right" books for your child please ask!! I'd love to help.
